I never expected to find myself in this world. I was never pedantic about what I wore, in fact you could easily describe my childhood dress sense as “SCRUFFY”.
Being the fourth son in a family of five, I’m sure has its advantages, although I can’t think of any. One of the big disadvantages was “hand-me-down” clothing.
After three older brothers, by the time it got to me, it was pretty threadbare. Shirts, school clothing, jeans, socks, shorts. A more particular person might feel this was a good reason to become obsessed with finer wear as the earning power increased. Not me. I always did enough not to stand out.
